Located in Sonora, Mexico, on the eastern coast off the beautiful Sea of Cortez, Bahía de Kino boasts one of the most beautiful beaches in the country. Our home, Casa Tortuga, sits on that beach, with a view southwest to Baja California.
Kino is a small fishing village some 100 km west of Hermosillo, Sonora. It is comprised of “Old Kino” — with its shops, small restaurants, and lovely pier; and New Kino — seven miles of crescent-shaped bay and beach, lined with mostly private homes and small hotels.
Bahía de Kino has long been known for its fishing. The Sea of Cortez is home to over 900 species of fish and is one of the most biodiverse ecosystems in the world.
We have two intimate rental units attached to our home, Casa Tortuga, and we manage a full apartment for friends who own Casa Encantada. It’s just a seven-hour drive south from Tucson, AZ, on a modern, four-lane highway, and 60 miles from the international airport in Hermosillo.
